We are thrilled to share that Ireland’s first modular ‘build-to-rent’ development has received planning approval. Importantly, the project has been granted permission without any reduction in height or units. Located adjacent to the Cookstown Luas Stop, this innovative development will add nearly 200 high-quality residential units to Dublin’s thriving ‘build-to-rent’ sector.
The proposal involves demolishing an existing industrial building to make space for 196 ‘build-to-rent’ residential units. These units will offer a range of modern living options, with diverse layouts designed for comfort and convenience. The development consists of four blocks, which will vary in height from 6 to 9 storeys, with a basement level, enhancing the surrounding urban environment.
In addition to the residential units, the design incorporates a commercial unit, office space, a crèche, and a gym. These features will activate the ground floor, encouraging street-level interaction. Furthermore, the development includes six communal amenity spaces across the ground and first floors. Residents will also benefit from a hot desk room and three secure storage areas.
This pioneering ‘build-to-rent’ project combines innovative modular construction with thoughtful design, offering flexible and sustainable housing solutions for Dublin’s modern urban community.
